So If I wanted to show an image against a tag, instead of a category could I use something like
<code>if ( tag_ID('23') </code>

Not sure about the correct syntax. Any ideas??? thanks

This is really nice. However, how can a link be added to the image

Glad to be of help!
I've been rather busy with other projects of late so I haven't had much time to handle the site, but as a result of all of it I've learnt a lot more about writing plugins. I figure I'll probably be able to put something together fairly quickly to handle all of the issues above, including image upload and category assignment.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot for explaining that! I just discovered your site and was wondering how it worked.

Unfortunately it was not quite so easy to find the category ID's in WP 2.5.
In my WP 2.2.2 installation they show up on the "manage -> categories" page as you described.
But in my testblog, which I updated to WP 2.5, the ID column is absent from this list. So I had to go to phpMyAdmin to look at the database tables and found them there. (Just in case other readers might have the same problem.)

Hi Tom, I've added a quick fix for that off the top of my head (may not be the most efficient way of doing it but it should work), it's now appended to the end of the article.

This just adds a variable - named $image_set to the top of the image deployment statement. When an image has already been outputted for the category, the variable will be set to 1, and there won't be any further images output. Each if statement will check to see if the image_set variable is set to 1 (that's done by the bit of code && if $image_set ==0), if it has been set, it won't output any further images. Hope that helps, do feel free to give me a shout if this doesn't get the effect you're after.
Cheers

Hi I'm trying to make use of this but having a problem. If a post is listed under two or more categories it'll display pictures from each, is there any way to limit it to the first category only?
